YANG Bin is a Professor of Business Administration. His research areas include organizational leadership, commercial ethics, non-market strategies and higher education management. He entered Tsinghua University in 1987 and received his BS and PhD in Management Sciences from Tsinghua University. He has designed and coordinated two of Tsinghua University Feature Courses: “Leadership and Team-Building” and “Critical Thinking and Moral Deduction.” He teaches numerous MBA/EMBA courses including “Thinking in Management,” “Thought, Judgment and Leadership,” “Culture, Ethics and Leadership,” “Crisis Management” and “Introduction to Management” and has won several teaching awards. In 2013 his team won the First Prize for Excellence in Teaching from the Beijing Municipal Government and the National First Prize for Excellence in Teaching in 2014. Professor YANG Bin also serves as Vice-Chairman of the Chinese Society for Academic Degrees and Graduate Education, Secretary-General of the National Supervisory Committee for Professional Graduate Education in Engineering and Secretary-General of the China National MBA Education Supervisory Committee.

ZHENG Li is a professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Tsinghua University. He received his BS and PhD from the University in 1986 and 1991. He was a visiting scholar at the Georgia Institute of Technology from 1994 to 1996. His research interests include production and operation planning and scheduling, production system analysis, and information-driven manufacturing. He has authored/coauthored over 200 publications, including five monographs and textbooks. He has won the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the National Invention Award, the Outstanding Award for Young Teachers from the Ministry of Education, and Labour’s Day Medal from the Beijing Municipal Government. He is Chang Jiang Scholar of the Ministry of Education, and is entitled to special allowances from the State Council of China. Professor Zheng also serves as Deputy Director of the Industrial Engineering Branch of the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineering and the Founding Chair of the China Chapter, Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE). He also serves on the editorial boards of a variety of international academic journals.

YAN Haiping is presently Professor of Cross-cultural Studies in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures and Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Tsinghua University. She is also an East Asia Program Fellow at Cornell University. Formerly on faculty at UCLA and Cornell University in Comparative Arts and Literatures and Cross-cultural History, Yan’s specialties include twentieth century arts and literature, critical theory and cross-cultural history. She has published numerous essays in journals and edited special issues of leading journals in her fields, authored as well as edited five books. Her newly completed book on contemporary artistic culture is forthcoming in Chinese and English editions by Cornell University Press and Beijing University Press. Yan’s accolades include China’s 1980-1981 First Prize for Excellence in Drama for her ten-act historical play Li Shimin, Prince of Qin, CNN’s 1999 selection as one of “six most influential Chinese cultural figures.” She returned to China in 2011 as first selection of the Thousand Talents Programs by the Shanghai Municipal Government. Since 2014, she has served as a Standing Member of the National Committee in the field of Foreign Languages and Literatures in the State Council. Since December 2016, Yan has led the work of the Secretariat of the UK-China Humanities Alliance.
